Generations of Love

 Generations of Love
Here's to strong women.
May we know them.
May we be them.
May we raise them.

This week I had the pleasure of doing a generation session with Eve and her mother Inna and Eve's 5 year old daughter Sophie.
Eve's mother was visiting all the way from Russia! So it was especially awesome to have the opportunity to photograph these 3 generations of women.
I hope Inna enjoys her time in Ann Arbor and that she loves these special images with her beautiful daughter and sweet granddaughter.

If the family is together, the soul is in the right place.

Ava Celebrates a Milestone

Ava Celebrates a Milestone

Happy 1st Birthday to Ava Lucia Corral!

Ava just turned one on June 6th, 2017.
As you can see she is just as adorable as can be!

Though this is the first time Ava has been in front of my camera this is not the first time I have met her. My daughter Savanah was blessed to have Ava's mommy, Veronica, as her Girl Scout Co-Leader this past year. So I have had the pleasure of seeing this precious baby before.

But this is the first time I have gotten to meet Ava's daddy, Angel, and big sisters Julie, almost 13,and Nayeli
age 10, (unfortunately big brother Eddy was unable to attend).

Ava was truly a real sweetheart during our session. The further in we got the more her inner model came out!!
The whole Corral family is just as sweet and wonderful as they can be and I really enjoyed our time together. A shout out must also be given to Ava's Uncle Jerry, who really helped out on the sidelines. You could tell the two of them shared a special bond and I had to pull him in at the end for a couple of photos with his beautiful baby niece :)

Thank you to the Corral family for including me on documenting such a sweet milestone.
May all Ava's birthdays be as rich and blessed with love and family as this one was.

Love, Nancy Roxanne

Newborn Baby Mohini

Newborn Baby Mohini
Used to wrap my hands around his little finger
Turns out he was wrapped around mine
He said "You can be anything you want to in this great big world"
But I'm always gonna be daddy's little girl

On June 6th, 2017 at 6:30 am, Mohini Yu Mullick made her debut at 8lbs and 9 ounces. Named for a Hindu Goddess and her middle name for her Korean grandmother, she starts her life surrounded by lots of love and a rich heritage from both her father's Indian background and her mother's Korean one.

Mohini's delivery was a long one and mom Erin credits new father Jay with being the one to help her make it through the intense all natural delivery.

Mohini is Jay's first child and by the look of total adoration he has whenever she is near I am sure she will always be daddy's little girl!

Mohini will definitely have the best of both worlds as the baby of the family and the only girl, but she will also have the benefit of two older brothers to help her along life's path.

From rowing to hockey, her big brothers will have lots to teach her!

Congratulations to Jay and Erin, and to big brothers Ronnie and Nicky!

And welcome to the world Baby Mohini!

Ted and Melissa and a Detroit Wedding

Ted and Melissa
A Bachelor proposal leads to a beautiful Detroit wedding.

It all began when one of Melissa's clients, Joann Bidlack, happened to be one of Ted's patients. Joann tried more than once to set Melissa and Ted up. Melissa took a little convincing.
But after their first phone conversation, Melissa and Ted found out they attended the same church and from there a first date was arranged.
As coincidence would have it, on that first date they ran into Melissa's mother and that was how Ted met his future mother in law the very same night he met his future wife!
Fast forward and Ted knew he was in love with Melissa the night she scaled a 10 foot fence at a Michigan game. What's not to love about that?!
When Ted decided to propose he wanted to plan an elaborate occasion but his excitement got the best of him the day he picked up the engagement ring, and so while watching The Bachelor, he popped the big question.
But Melissa actually thought he was joking till she saw the ring!

And who says The Bachelor relationships aren't real?! ;)

Fast forward to May 20th, 2017 and here we all were celebrating the love and marriage of this great couple!

The eventful day started at Detroit Motor City Casino where the bridal party was getting ready. And that's where we also did the first look.
From there we jumped on the party bus and headed to the beautiful DIA.
And just as the rain started to sprinkle it was time for some images in the beautiful Detroit Public Library.
Then the party bus took us to Jefferson Beach Marina for the beautiful outdoor ceremony.
Though the temperature started to drop and the wind began to pick up spirits remained high as Ted and Melissa said their vows.
From there it was on to the the gorgeous Ovation Yacht for a 4 hour cruise.
The water was a admittedly a little rough with a storm moving in but the party rocked on!  And the images underneath the Ambassador Bridge while Melissa and Ted danced under the darkening sky were incredible!
I'm not sure who had more fun, Ted and Melissa dancing or everyone who got to watch them. It was pretty great.
And after toasts, and dinner, the party and celebration continued on.

Thank you to Ted and Melissa Paquin for allowing me to share in your special day.
All the world loves a great love story. It gives us hope and fills our hearts with joy.
Here’s to a lifetime filled with joyful moments!

Much love, Nancy Roxanne

Noa turns One

Noa turns One
Recently I was asked to photograph little Noa's very first birthday celebration on June 7th.

It was just a low key day with good food and good friends who joined Noa's mom and dad and her 3 year old brother, Itai, for the happy occasion.
Making the day a little more extraordinary was that Noa's 'yaya' traveled all the way from New Jersey just to celebrate Noa's milestone. From the look of love on grandmother Sally's face you know she would have gone to the moon and back to be there :)

I wish sweet little Noa many more happy birthdays and for her to always be as loved and treasured as she was on this very first commemoration.
