I'm a queen crowned in my curls
I first met Chloe 2 years ago when photographing her equally adorable friend Lanie. The first thing I noticed was her head full of curls! I knew then I wanted to photograph Chloe so I put her and Lanie together for a fun session at a laundromat! (Something I had always wanted to do!)
Then a few months later I did some head shots for Chloe who definitely has that certain something.
And now here we are photographing her Senior year images!
My camera never tires of her gorgeous face!
Chloe is entering her Senior year at Country Day School where she has attended since kindergarten. She is unsure of where she plans to attend college but she is considering University of Chicago, University of Michigan and even some schools in New York and Boston!
Good luck to Chloe during her Senior year as she prepares to embark on a new and exciting journey. May it be as glorious and full as her head of curls :)

What does the fox say?
He says--I'm ADORABLE!!
Little Grayson Lawrence Weber made his appearance on Saturday August 11th, 2018 at the stroke of midnight.
He was a healthy 8lbs and 6 ounces and was 20 inches long.
His mama, Joy Weber, had been admitted in labor on Thursday so she and her husband Andrew were thrilled when Grayson finally made his official debut just as Saturday began!
Thankfully Joy had an easy pregnancy and she is absolutely loving her first time experiencing motherhood.
How beautiful are they?!
This sweet boy could not have been any better behaved during our session and I am definitley on a roll with good baby boys during newborn sessions!

A Happy Place Engagement
A Happy Place
Recently I joined Jennifer and David to celebrate their wedding which is planned for October 4th, 2019. After they wed they will hop on a plane to Vegas that day which will also be their 12th anniversary.
Jennifer and David met while both working as store managers for T-Mobile.
Jennifer was a single mom just finalizing her divorce and she was definitely not looking for a relationship.
But true love will always find a way and they shared their first kiss while playing laser tag in 2007. On October 4th of that year, David asked Jennifer to be his girlfriend while they were in Las Vegas.
In 2011 they had their son Brandon. Jennifer says that what "makes David an incredible person is that he supports and loves my older kids (Valerie, 17 and Ty, 15) like they were his own. He would do anything for them and brags about them any chance he gets."

On New Year's Eve 2015, they became engaged while surrounded by friends and family.
For their engagement photos, Jennifer chose a pop-up art installation in Chicago called Happy Place. Originating in Los Angeles, the installation is presently on tour and in Chicago til September 3rd.
What a cool and awesome place to celebrate a happy ever after tale!
According to Jennifer and David, love and family is the most important thing to them. Those things have pulled them through difficult times to create their happy times.
This location was as fun as Jennifer and David themselves.
Congratulations to them both.

We swiped right to the rest of our lives--Wedding of Derek and Ashlee Rusin
"We swiped right to the rest of our lives.."
In the day and age of social media for everything, even dating, it is inevitable for there to be some tales of happy ever after that start with online dating. And this is one such tale as told to me by the happy couple...
After years of failed relationships and heartache, Derek and Ashlee decided to have a little fun with dating, and they both joined Tinder.
Just a few weeks later and they both "swiped right to the rest of their lives".
The very first date on October 15th, 2015 they describe as "the best date either of us had ever been on". Minutes turned to hours as they talked and talked as if they had known each other their whole lives.
They kept in touch for several weeks before seeing each other a second time. From that time forward they were inseparable.
Fast forward to October 8th, 2016 and Derek and Ashlee moved in together and adopted their cat, Thor.
And from there, their adventures together continued. From zip lining, white water rafting, to the top of a mountain coaster in Gatlinburg. Sking, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins and boating in Cancun. Exploring the streets of Hollywood, whale watching in Laguna, shopping on Venice beach. Playing with monkeys in the Dominican. Banana boating, hiking, and biking in Puerto Vallarta...
And that was only the beginning..on August 6th, 2017 Derek surprised Ashlee with a beach proposal in the Dominican Republic.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
I was honored to be a part of their beautiful wedding on May 19th, 2018 at the gorgeous Sundance Studios. The vintage and eclectic space fit Ashlee and Derek perfectly!

Believe in Magic Unicorn Sessions
-Believe in Magic-
A unicorn themed photo shoot has been on my photo bucket list for awhile. So when a client requested the theme at the same time in my life that my youngest daughter, a 9 year old, was obsessed with unicorns, AND right before my oldest daughter was due to visit from Alaska with my 21 month old granddaughter, I knew it was kismet.
The next order of business was finding a unicorn. As luck would have it, I found two, both on the same day.
After putting out feelers via social media and using Google to find options, it was old fashioned leg work that brought me to Kestral and Teddy.
I spotted Kestral at Paragon Farm Equestrian Center in Ann Arbor on Wagner Road. Teddy I found when I stopped further down the street at a veterinary clinic to inquire if they knew of anyone with a mini white horse. As luck would have I was told that one of their employees did. A few days and a few phone calls later and Kestral and Teddy were on on board thanks to their awesome
owners Sue Weir and Hannah Stalhandske.
From there I put out ads on social media and to my current clientele.
Thank you to everyone that came out and brought their children to experience a little bit of magic. I could not be more happy with the way the images came out and I cannot wait to do my next themed session--stay tuned!
