Senior Sessions are definitely one of my favorite things to do. You basically have a cute teenager, with lots of different clothing choices and styles, and then said teenager generally has an open mindset for trying anything and everything. It's like an adult version of playing with Barbies. I even get to add accessories, and then of course I get to put them places and pose them. Yep, definitely an adult version of playing Barbies and I used to love me some Barbies :D
For Destiny's Senior Session she wanted something bright and colorful and chose Zao Island in Valparaiso. I won't lie. I was a little worried about her choice of destination. I hadn't even been to the miniature golf/arcade venue for more than a decade and I truly wasn't sure it would work for a Senior Session destination. And since my schedule is jam packed right now, I ran out of time to scout ahead. So I made the decision to start at a location that I have been wanting to shoot at for a LONG while, and one in which I had just recently, very thoroughly, scouted.
You couldn't pick a more different spot than the one I chose haha! It's an old building in Malden, Indiana but if there is one thing I love it's urban decay. Give me a decrepit building or a weathered barn and I'm in seventh heaven. Luckily for me, my personal Barbie, Destiny, was game ;)
And as you will see from the images they are super cool. Destiny looks like she is posing for some rad hipster magazine and that is exactly what I was going for, so thank you Destiny for playing along!
Then came time for Zao Island. Guess what? I loved it!! All the bright colors and fun backgrounds made for a perfect second half of our session. It was exactly what we needed to counter and pair wonderfully with the first half of our session. A perfect Senior Session, to me, is one in which we have lots of looks with a large variety of backgrounds, and in which we have tons of fun. Mission accomplished!
Good luck to Destiny as she starts her Senior Year at Morgan Township High School. She attended Morgan Township schools from Kindergarten through 8th grade and is definitely looking forward to finishing out her Senior year there!
After graduation Destiny plans on attending Ivy Tech to become an MTE like her mother, grandfather and uncle. I wish Destiny all the best, especially since she is my little cousin! Much love to you sweetie, I hope you love your images. :)
