Graduation is not the end, it is the beginning-Alix's Senior Session

May 31, 2018  •  2 Comments

Graduation is not the end, it is the beginning.
As another school year comes to a close it is time to say goodbye to this years graduating Seniors.
Some, like Alixandria Humprey, will be starting the next phase of their lives in a completely new environment after graduation.  In Alix's case, after graduating from Farmington Hills High School, she will be leaving the cold winters of Michigan for the heated summers of Arizona!
Lucky for Alix, she will still have a strong support system when she moves out west since mom and dad will be moving with her as well.
Good luck to Alix as she starts her next round of studies in medicine and forensic pathology.
I wish her and her family the very best in Arizona!

Much love, Nancy Roxanne

Where the wild things are--Teja turns one!

“Oh, please don't go—we'll eat you up—we love you so!” ...

And so began my photoshoot with the one year old birthday boy, Teja.

One the go, as all toddlers are, it was an excerise in keeping and holding Teja's attention as well as his 6 and 3 year old sisters, Arzoee and Zohra
. Luckily mom, dad, and the nanny were there to help. It takes a village!

As you will see it all worked out and I could not be happier with the images I was able to capture. Try not to fall in love with these three beautiful children and their sweet silly personalities.

For the record, conceptual photography is the genre closest to my creative heart..so if you or anyone you know mentions doing a session that involves, costumes and a narrative like this Where the Wild Things themed session--I AM THERE ;)

Happy first birthday to adorable Teja.
May you always be surrounded by unconditional love as you are right now.

Much love, Nancy Roxanne

Celebration of life and long lasting love

May 27, 2018  •  Leave a Comment

Fiercely independent at a young age, Josie worked two jobs during high school. Soon after graduation she would marry her husband Santos. They were young, in love, and broke. The newlyweds only had $17.00 to their name on their wedding day and Josie had to borrow the pink suit she wore when she and Santos said their vows before the Justice of Peace.

Struggles and hardships can be the end for many young couples but Josie and Santos made a life for themselves and the two daughters they would have, Denise and Danielle. The Ramirez's just celebrated their landmark 50th wedding anniversary. With their two daughters, two grandsons, and extended friends and family gathered around them, Santos and Josie brought their loved ones together to have what Josie described as "a celebration of life."

And it was a celebration! Santos and Josie cut up the dance floor putting people half their age to shame!
What a pleasure to meet this sweet family and share in such an auspicious occasion. I was truly honored.

Much love to you Santos and Josie and here is to the next 50!

A young heart in an old soul

A young heart in an old soul

Last week I had the joy of working with sweet little Ronin Pushkar Mullick.
He came into to this world on May 3rd, at 1:25 am.

I can't help but wonder if Ronin has been here before though..his attentiveness and awareness of everything I, and my assistant, were doing spoke to me of an old soul. His sweet brown eyes took in everything with an almost intense curiosity for someone so new to this world.

He fought sleep trying to figure out what was going on but finally could hold out no longer ..
Congratulations to Joey and Vasvi Mullick and to his first time grandparents on both sides.
May his life bless you and all others who have the joy of meeting this perfect little boy.

Much love, Nancy Roxanne

Special thanks to my assistant/baby wrangler Lindsey Wheeler

Mommy and Me Pin Up

May 18, 2018  •  1 Comment

“A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart.”

My latest pin up photoshoot was a super fun Mommy and Me session with Schaterika and her 5 year old daughter Samyria.
First we started with a 1950's theme and then moved onto one of my favorite iconic roles-Rosie the Riveter. What better way to showcase your strong mother daughter bond then with emulating a woman that symbolized female power and the abiity to do anything a man can do!
At the end we finished up with some images for mom to represent her burgeoning career as an artist. Schaterika sings, raps,
writes, and also does dance and choreography.

Much love to this beautiful mom and daughter duo, strong women unite!
